Our Story

Rick and Alex were set up by Marie, a Sheridan family friend who, at the time, was Rick’s colleague at FleishmanHillard. Their first date was a Wednesday evening in May at the Coffee Cartel in the Central West End. Rick patiently waited thirty minutes for Alex to arrive, at which point she begged Rick’s forgiveness and the waiter for a stiff drink; the end of the school year is hard on seventh grade teachers. As Alex would later learn, punctuality was not a major concern for Rick, and he asked her out again. It didn’t take long for Alex to introduce him to Gunther, her charismatic pug, who quickly won Rick over. Around ten months (and thirty minutes) later, Rick proposed to Alex- with Gunther’s help, of course.

And that is where our story begins...
