St. Louis, Missouri / Platform Architect
A developer’s mindset.
An architect’s perspective.
Hi, I’m Rick. I build web applications and the cloud platforms behind them, connecting product ideas with thoughtful architecture and hands-on engineering.
A little about me
Built on experience.
Driven by curiosity.
My work has grown from full stack development into software and platform architecture. Today, I’m a Platform Architect at Eastman Chemical Company, helping shape Azure infrastructure and technical direction across multiple applications and engineering teams.
I stay close to the code. My toolkit includes TypeScript, Node.js, Vue, Angular, and C#/.NET, alongside Azure services, SQL, and Infrastructure as Code with Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform. I work across CI/CD, observability, security, and performance to build systems that teams can confidently ship and support.
I enjoy connecting the technical decisions to the people using the product: working with product and engineering partners, making architectural tradeoffs, and mentoring developers. This site is my own corner of the web to experiment, share what I’m learning, and keep building.
